The day started at Sapphire hair where the girls sipped Moet, snacked on cheese and had their hair and makeup done. The flowers were delivered by Townsville Flower Market and looked breathtaking as usual!

Louise came up with the idea to photograph Peta in a near-by alleyway infront of this really cool mural and it worked fantastically! That is the best part about shooting a wedding with two photographers – you get to bounce ideas off each other and really increase your chances of seeing something a little ‘different’.

The girls got dressed at Jupiter’s Casino where the rooms are filled with great natural light and have a neutral décor which sets a perfect scene so we can concentrate on capturing the events unfolding. Peta did a great job of making sure everything was organised before the wedding day, which made everything on the big day run smoothly without any rush. The girls got to sit in the hotel chatting and having a few drinks before the ceremony began. I really liked being able to listen to their easy banter as Louise and I walked around the edges and photographed people laughing and talking.

Once the ceremony was finished (Anzac Park) on the strand, we then headed off for the bridal shoot. We incorporated something bright with the blue wall, something rustic with the old wall, and something more organic with the grassy scene.

Des and Peta were fantastic to photograph… both had really easy eye contact with the camera and each other. Peta looked absolutely amazing in her gown – soft layers at the bottom with the bodice fitting her so perfectly it looked almost painted on. The headpiece she wore with a vintage feel really complimented the dress.

The reception was held at Jupiter’s in one of the ballrooms. The bride and groom where lucky enough to have some great friends to help set up the room. There were so many really cute finishing touches on the tables – a suitcase full of flowers, mini herb plants and a tree with ‘love’ messages.

Thank you Peta and Des for allowing us to share your day – you were both sweet and warm and  made us feel so welcomed.

Wedding season is well and truly under way! We are all really excited to shoot this year’s upcoming weddings. We get to meet some pretty incredible couples and it is so nice to share in their special day. We do still have some available dates for this year and are already taking bookings for 2013 and 2014 – very exciting!
