Celebrating Dads – Father's Day Promotion with PakMag

Father’s Day is here again and to celebrate we thought it would be great if we could all share some old photos and favourite memories of our Dads. So together with PakMag – Townsville’s Parents and Kids Magazine, we have put together a promotion. Simply email us a copy of an old photograph of you with your Dad, along with 30 words describing your favourite childhood memory, or something special you remember about your Dad from when you were young. And to make it extra fun we’ll pick out a winner at random to receive a family photography package worth $565! We will post some of our favourites on Facebook over the next couple of weeks, and a winner will be announced in mid September.
How to enter: Email your photo and your 30 words to info@insightcreative.com.au, along with your name and contact details. Entries close 15th September 2011. Winner will receive a location shoot worth $65 and a print package worth $500. Only one entry per person and please only send one photo! See below for full terms and conditions.
To get the ball rolling, here’s some contributions from our own team!
Liz: When I think of my Dad, I think of a man who can do anything, fix anything and rise to any challenge. We have shared so many amazing adventures together as a family and he has taught my sisters and I so much. I am so lucky to have him as a Dad and now, as i’ve grown older, a truly great friend.

Karen: As kids when we asked Dad to do something he would say ‘sure, I can do ANYTHING.’ And he could. And still can. That’s where I get my determination from.

Suz: My Dad… hard to pinpoint a specific memory which sums up my dad, but as I try I automatically smile. Thinking of my dad makes me remember lots of cuddles, the tickle from his bristly moustache and the feeling of being loved and constantly looked after. Thanks Dad for being there every step of the journey, for being my sparring partner, driving instructor, taxi, bank and advisor and just for being you.

Here are a few of our wonderful entries:
Carryn Joel Bean: “I love this photo of my dad swirling me around the dance floor on my wedding day. Not an eloquent waltz…. but just the best fun!”

Paula Halliday: “My Dad is the most strong willed, opinionated and loyal man I have ever met, and I’m so glad everyday that he installed those traits in me.”

Carla Matthews: “This photo of my Dad and I is my favourite because it always makes me smile when I look at it. It shows my Dad working in the yard and me sitting alongside keeping him company and singing him a song. It just shows how much I love spending every moment with my Dad.”

Cathy Ellis: “I love this photo of my father and I. He always protected me from scary Santa’s (and there were a number of them around in the late 60’s and early 70’s), he didn’t seem to mind saving me from ferocious lions that were biting his leg too. He’s my hero.”
