It’s always a great feeling to wake up to a bright blue sky, especially on a wedding day – it takes some of the pressure off. Lauren, her family and bridesmaids got ready at Central Apartments (just near Vine 21). Lauren decided on the most gorgeous pair of purple shoes which worked really well with her flowers.
When Lauren finished dressing in her stunning gown all the girls were squealing and getting teary, even Lauren’s dad was moved to tears several times – so sweet! Champagne was popped and everyone started to loosen up ready for the big day ahead.
The ceremony was held at Anzac Park on the Strand under the shade of the beautiful fig trees. The celebrant was the lovely Jennifer from Dragonfly Ceremonies who has also been involved in our Make Believe Wedding. Daniel’s grandmother couldn’t make it to the ceremony so they had her on Skype on a laptop at the ceremony - how awesome is that?!!
For the location Lauren wanted to incorporate the Marina area and luckily for us we had just a sprinkling of clouds to soften the direct light from the sun, but also blue sky and cool clouds behind Lauren and Daniel.
Queens Gardens were our second location, making use of the pathways, huge trees and the maze. Our last location was a huge grassy field with golden sunlight filling the frame – our favourite sort of light.
The reception was held at Yongala Lodge in a beautiful Queenslander style room with casement windows wooden archways. Yongala offers a really intimate reception and feels like you are at someone’s home, which I love. The wedding cake looked so good… we had to control ourselves from stealing a piece of chocolate off the side! On the third tier of the cake was the most gorgeous cake topper! It was a cartoonish representation of Lauren and Daniel holding bunches of vegies from their garden. Lauren found a lady on Esty who hand makes them, kind of like this lady.
Lauren and Daniel were relaxed and incredibly easy to get along with. Thanks for choosing us to capture your wedding
