Our new direction

So what are all the changes about?…  Our team of three are still staying together but are working together in a different format. Megan has taken on sole responsibly of the portrait side of the business with Suz and I as her ‘side-kicks’. Suz and l will look after the commercial, weddings and workshops section. Megan has always specialised in portraits, so with her little girl starting school it seemed like the perfect time to take back the reigns.

As some of you might have noticed or heard we have moved out of our premises in Garbutt (after 8 years!). It was tough moving out of somewhere that felt like our ‘2nd home’, but it has been a great decision because it has forced us to look at things differently. Most of our shoots are actually done on location, so there hasn’t been any huge changes to our usual process, except now we often meet clients in coffee shops (yay- cakes & coffee!). Megan has created a home office and uses her beautifully lit living area as her ‘natural light’ studio space.

For the next 12 months we will all remain working from home (we still have our beautiful iMacs as pride of place) whilst we decide whether to take on a new commercial space or if we will remain working from home. I may even build a studio at home – though this concept is still in the ‘dreaming’ stage! So whilst Megan has been shooting up a storm with beautiful portrait photoshoots, Suz and I are just coming out of the ‘new baby cave’.

We are currently making plans for the remaining part of 2014 and 2015. I will start shooting for some of our regular commercial clients in the coming months and we will announce some photo workshop dates for 2015.
Our vision still remains the same – to produce beautiful light filled images that move people whether that be in the form of a new baby, a business profile or a bride on her wedding day. What we are striving towards now and in the coming years is to spend more time with clients, to produce a body of work that really tells ‘your story’. Whilst a beautifully lit photograph is great, we want to give you more, we want to experience more. Join us on our story-telling journey by checking in regularly on the blog.
